When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life? It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a Cert III qualified person with at least 6 months experience in a similar role, to join the Silverchain team in Croydon and surrounding areas.

What we’re looking for:
- Enjoy having variety in their day.
- Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
- Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.
In addition, you will need:
- A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
- Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability.
- Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role that includes personal care, manual handling, hoist training and assisting with medications.
The role:
In the role of Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:
- General housekeeping and making beds.
- Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
- Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
- Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:
- Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
- Assisting clients to take their medications.
- Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
- Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
- Providing social and emotional support.
- Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
- Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
