About the Role
This role will be employed by Silver Birch Care Residential Services. The role will cover homes in and around the Greater London area.
- Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with requests made by home managers
- Liaise with and arrange, where necessary, contractors
- Ensure that the environment is maintained, and when required clearing snow and ice from pathways and putting down grit
- Assist with the moving of refuse, white goods, mattresses, and furniture in a safe manner
- Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and emergency lighting checks
- Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s)
- Undertake training as required
- Be prepared to work as and when the need arises incl. supporting with Out of Hours service over weekends and Bank Holidays.
- What We Are Looking For
- Hold a full driving licence.
- Good general education with minimum GCSE C or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills.
- Excellent organisational skills including ability to manage time and prioritise effectively.
- Strong IT skills, including using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel packages.
- Able to work independently and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to deal with colleagues at all levels.
- Able to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.
