Salary: £31,000-£34,000 depending on experience.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday NIGHTS between 1600pm-0200am and 2000pm-0600am (1 Hour Lunch).
Silver Arrow require an experienced Transport Planner to work for a container company based in the Knowsley area.
Your Role:
- Night shift route planning for container loads for UK wide distribution.
- Review driver routes and plan to maximise efficiency.
- Keep all customers informed of all failed services or significant delays.
- Provide the communication link between customers and drivers.
- Supervising and managing driver workloads.
- Monitoring driver performance.
- Ensuring your routes are numbered correctly and all jobs are sequenced.
- Investigating failed services and looking into ways to resolve site issues.
- Managing driver’s daily activities in line with the Working Time Directive and driving hours.
- Ensuring every customer receives excellent customer service.
What we need from you:
- Container route planning experience (1 year minimum).
- Previous experience within a transport planning position.
- Experience with Navis VBS.
- Excellent manual transport planning skills and experience.
- Experienced in route planning for 20 x Tractor Units.
- Experience using TOPS Transport Management System.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Competent decision making.
- Good geographical knowledge of the North West and UK.
- Strong customer service skills.
