Silver Arrow require an experienced I.T Technician to work for a leading logistics company based in the Middlewich area. Our client, one of the UK's leading logistics providers for finished commercial vehicles and plant machinery, is committed to managing by exception through the effective use of systems and has historically invested heavily in the right technology to support this approach.
Your Role:
- Reporting to the head of the IT department and taking instruction on day-to-day requirements.
- Providing first line support within the business.
- Providing technical assistance to remote workers using PDAs and IT equipment.
- Maintaining and monitoring IT systems infrastructure in line with IT procedures.
- Responding quickly to internal staff and 3rd parties on IT related queries/issues.
- Maintaining data control, system security and integrity.
- Providing relevant and progressive technical solutions.
- Attending remote sites when required (driving license needed).
- Supporting outside normal working hours in exceptional circumstances (TOIL/overtime applicable).
What we need from you:
- Minimum 2 years in 1st/2nd line support role.
- Knowledge of router configurations, networking and security.
- Knowledge of Windows servers and Active Directory.
- Working knowledge of Windows OS, O365 and SharePoint.
- Experience with mobile devices, PDAs and SFTP setups.
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new technology and work independently when required.
- Awareness of business-critical system importance and consistency in role.
