Area Sales Manager (Automotive) – 1 year Experience Needed – Permanent Role.

Location: Northern England – Head Office Based In Stoke

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (35 hours per week)

Purpose of the Role: This role involves managing and developing existing customer relationships while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities. The position requires regular travel across Northern England, with a strong on-site presence essential to effectively support customers and deliver the service offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing an existing customer base while identifying new business opportunities to drive profitable growth
  • Targeting higher contribution levels and exploring new market sectors
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends
  • Developing a strong understanding of the automotive product portfolio, specifications, approvals, and technical applications
  • Increasing market share and sales by building strong relationships with key decision-makers and understanding customer business needs
  • Maintaining and developing an active pipeline of prospective new business opportunities
  • Conducting market research to identify potential clients, competitors, and emerging opportunities
  • Proven sales success with strong communication and commercial awareness
  • Backgrounds selling into the Automotive Aftermarket, Franchise Dealers, Commercial Fleet, Agricultural, Construction, Plant, or Off-Highway sectors would be highly beneficial
  • Self-motivated, driven, and tenacious individuals committed to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Ability to demonstrate profitable sales growth through technical selling of high-quality products
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of automotive lubricants, applications, or automotive engineering would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Experience within the automotive lubricants industry would be advantageous, though not essential
