Silver Arrow require an experienced Export Sea Freight Clerk to work for a well established shipping and logistics company based in the East London area. This is a busy and varied role, ideal for someone with strong Sea Freight Export experience who is confident managing shipments from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for liaising daily with customers, overseas agents and hauliers worldwide, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and to a high standard. Alongside export responsibilities, you’ll also support deep sea imports and short sea movements as required. A good working knowledge of CargoWise is highly desirable.

Your Role

  • Managing Sea Freight Export shipments from start to finish
  • Ensuring all consignments are entered onto the system prior to arrival and departure
  • Liaising with overseas agents, customers and hauliers
  • Using internal systems effectively, with CargoWise knowledge being advantageous
  • Assisting with deep sea import and short sea shipments as required
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and suppliers
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times
  • Keeping customers fully informed of any delays or issues affecting shipments

What we need from you

  • A minimum of 3 years' Freight Forwarding experience
  • Able to commute to IG8. Relocation is not offered for this role.
  • Experience handling shipments from start to finish
  • Strong operational knowledge of Sea Freight Export procedures
  • A good working knowledge of CargoWise is preferred
  • Good overall understanding of freight forwarding operations
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Organised, proactive and able to work well under pressure
