Exciting opportunity for a private chef to join a fully staffed household working alongside another chef and under one of the most experienced Private Chefs in the industry. Great opportunity to learn from the very best and work in a friendly team with welcoming employers.
The family, with 2 young children and 2 dogs, travel extensively including to faraway destinations so you must be prepared to travel for 2 or sometimes 3 weeks at a time with the family. You will be employed on the basis of 40 hours a week so any overtime (here or abroad) will be paid at double time or given back in time off in lieu. The family have professionally equipped kitchens in their various homes worldwide so you will have all the gadgets and everything you need to prepare delicious meals.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in a private household and understand that while you are working with other staff, the role of a private chef is more than just cooking and requires one to be a good team player. The clients love Japanese food and raw food (e.g. carpaccio) but generally match their meals to the climate they are in (e.g. hearty meals in the Alps, salads and barbecued food when on a Greek Island).
The existing team is incredibly warm and has a great environment so personality fit is just as important. If you are passionate about food and are up for travelling, get in touch! The family spend about 2-3 months of the year in the UK and the rest of the year in 3-4 other locations.
While in London, the role is 5 days on, 2 days off. When travelling you will be working for 2 or 3 weeks with time off in lieu or overtime paid at double pay.
