Raw Materials Technologist

A well-established food manufacturer is looking for a Raw Materials Manager to take ownership of incoming supply on a busy production site.
This is a hands‑on role, but it's as much about people as it is about product. You'll be the key link between suppliers, planning, and procurement — and the business puts real investment behind its people, with training, development, and a culture where staff are genuinely supported.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure raw materials consistently arrive within spec
- Manage rejections and refunds quickly and fairly when product falls short — for example, foreign body issues like blue plastic
- Build strong, lasting supplier relationships so they value dealing with the site
- Stay organised and responsive, so issues are flagged and resolved fast
- Keep the planning and procurement teams informed so the whole site runs smoothly
- What you'll bring:
- Experience in raw materials, stock, or supply within food manufacturing (meat a plus)
- A genuine people‑first approach — with suppliers and colleagues alike
- Strong organisation and a calm head when problems land
- Good commercial awareness around cost, quality, and availability
