Interim Warehouse/Operations Manager

Location: London

Compensation: Competitive day rate (all-in no expenses).

Are you an experienced food industry interim looking for your next contract?

My client is looking for a proactive, results-driven leader to manage Warehouse/distribution and end-to-end operations at their state-of-the-art HQ in London.

What You’ll Do:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate 19-45 team members, managing recruitment, training, and career progression.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the packing, labelling, warehousing, and dispatch processes—ensuring orders are scheduled, executed on time, and meet quality standards.
  • Stock & Equipment: Handle stock control, ordering of essential materials, and ensure smooth delivery of orders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, planning, and quality teams to adapt dynamically to changes and maintain high GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • Cost Control: Manage labour costs and operational budgets to drive efficiency and profitability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in food manufacturing or a similar environment.
  • Operations and Warehouse management experience 5 yrs+.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety, GMP, HACCP, and related food safety standards.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office / potentially some ERP systems.
  • Basic engineering knowledge of food production machinery is a plus.
  • FLT license is an advantage.

The Details:

  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday regular days. (It’s never 9-5 – but nothing mental).
  • Contract Duration: 9-12 months initial term.
  • Competitive day rate.
  • Interview within 7 days / start towards end of February.
