The predicted salary is between 29700 - 36300 £ per year.

Job Purpose To provide a need led service to adults with a learning disability by adopting a person-centred approach that fosters self-awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.

To maintain high standards ensuring the compliance with National Care Standards published in accordance with the care Standards Act 2000.

Management

  • To lead by example and develop effective teams within the Service.
  • Develop a positive working environment which nurtures and rewards good practice through a programme of training and development.
  • Provide regular supervision and annual appraisal to senior support workers and staff in line with Company procedures and standards.
  • To ensure good quality working relationships are built and maintained between staff and the individuals, they are supporting.
  • Ensure a range of meetings take place to include regular team meetings, team development sessions, service specific meetings, including supported living, short breaks and community Outreach meetings.
  • To attend monthly managers meetings and six weekly senior support worker meetings.
  • Work with the HR Manager to ensure the recruitment and retention of staff with a positive value base and person-centred approach.
  • Provide support and guidance to the staff team.
  • Ensure staff attend all mandatory and refresher training and support new staff to complete the care certificate.
  • Where necessary ensure that all disciplinary and grievance procedures are carried out in line with Company policy and statutory requirements.
  • To manage change effectively.
  • Provide regular on call cover.
  • Ensure staff adhere to Silva care policies and procedures and information contained in the Staff

Management

  • Ensure processes are in place and adhered to in line with the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Develop a culture which encourages service users and their circle of support to participate in all decisions about their service, and to promote choice at all times.
  • Develop a culture which enables staff members to maximise their development and create areas of expertise within the service.
  • Undertake monthly Quality Assessment Audits to ensure a continuously Improving service is provided.

This will include monthly medication audits.

  • Take responsibility for areas of development or leadership as directed by the Service Manager.
  • To keep the service manager and registered manager updated on all service developments.
  • To develop a culture which encourages service users and staff to raise concerns, and suggestions on how we can improve services.
  • To ensure all concerns with regards the safety and welfare of services users are reported immediately and to follow the Silva care Safeguarding policy, and the Safeguarding guidance in the Care Act 2014.

Financial

  • Manage delegated budgets to ensure resources are used to best effect, in line with company policy and procedure.
  • Report financial discrepancies to the Service Manager.
  • Ensure staff work and comply with financial systems in line with company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • To audit service user monies and Petty cash in line with Silva care policy.

Management

  • Ensure information is collated and recorded in line with Quality Assessment System and CQC requirements.
  • Manage the appropriate maintenance of records and personal information in line with the Data Protection Act and to the standards required by information Governance.
  • To co-ordinate person centred reviews and attend Multi-agency meeting as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures related to the running of the service are adhered to.

  • Ensure the service meets H the job holder may be required to undertake such other duties as Management may from time to time reasonably require.
