Role Summary: We seek an experienced and motivated Agricultural Sales Representative to join our team, responsible for promoting and selling our range of agricultural products to farmers, agribusinesses, and trade accounts in the South of the UK. In this role, you will work closely with independent farmers and larger trade customers, helping grow our market presence while building strong, trust-based relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of agricultural practices and the UK's farming landscape, as well as proven sales experience in the sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Relationship Management: Actively manage and grow a portfolio of farmer and trade accounts, identifying client needs and offering tailored product solutions.
- Client Outreach: Conduct regular visits to farms and agribusinesses, fostering strong relationships and providing ongoing support, advice, and product training.
- Product Expertise: Stay up-to-date with our product range, including new product launches, industry trends, and competitor offerings, to provide informed recommendations to clients.
- Market Development: Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate new markets and grow market share in the region.
- Sales Targets: Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, providing regular progress reports to management.
- Customer Support: Act as a primary contact for clients, troubleshooting issues and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, technical, and product teams to align on sales strategies and improve customer offerings.
- Events & Networking: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and community gatherings to expand network and promote our products.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in sales, ideally within the agricultural or farming industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK agricultural sector and familiarity with farming practices and challenges in the southern region.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse range of clients.
- Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the south of the UK.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in agriculture, agronomy, or a related field.
- Experience selling agricultural inputs, machinery, or technology.
- Knowledge of regional agricultural practices and crops.
