An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, professional housekeeper to join a welcoming private household in the beautiful Highgate area of North London. This is a long-term position within a professional household, working alongside a full-time nanny to support a family of three with one young child. The role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys creating an exceptionally well‑run home, takes enormous pride in their work and has a meticulous eye for detail.
The Role
- Full housekeeping, daily cleaning and presentation of the property
- Specialist care of a variety of surfaces including wood and polished concrete flooring
- Laundry, ironing, careful handwashing of delicate items and wardrobe organisation
- Managing household linens and maintaining beautifully organised storage areas
- Grocery shopping and household stock management using online ordering and shopping apps
- Preparing fresh salads, side dishes and food preparation for the family's evening meals
- Weekly flower arranging throughout the home
- Occasional errands including dry cleaning, tailoring and post office visits
- Maintaining outdoor areas between gardener visits, including light watering, leaf clearing and basic weeding
- Cleaning exterior floor‑to‑ceiling windows on a regular basis
The Ideal Candidate
- Experienced within private households
- Exceptionally organised and highly detail‑orientated
- Knowledgeable in the care of luxury furnishings, fabrics and specialist surfaces
- Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently
- Warm, discreet and trustworthy
