This is a long-term role for someone who genuinely enjoys creating a calm, organised and beautifully run household. The family lead busy lives and spend many weekends and holidays at the property, valuing it as a peaceful retreat where they can relax, entertain friends and spend quality time together.
They are seeking a professional, proactive and caring individual who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards whilst creating a comfortable and inviting environment. The successful candidate will become a trusted and valued part of the household, taking ownership of the home and ensuring everything runs effortlessly behind the scenes.
The property is substantial, with seven bedrooms, a pool house, gym and extensive grounds, and comes with a self-contained staff flat and car.
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the household, ensuring the home is always immaculate, welcoming and fully prepared for the family’s arrival.
Duties will include:
- Full housekeeping to an exceptional standard throughout the main residence, pool house and gym
- Laundry, ironing, wardrobe care and household organisation
- Managing household inventories and ensuring all supplies are fully stocked and replenished
- Grocery shopping and sourcing fresh produce
- Preparing healthy, nutritious family meals when the family are in residence
- Menu planning and accommodating dietary requirements, including gluten-free cooking
- Preparing the property for guests and family gatherings
- Assisting with small-scale entertaining, including lunches, dinners and summer barbecues
- Liaising with contractors and supporting the smooth running of the property
- Monitoring household maintenance and reporting issues promptly
- Running errands and assisting with household administration where required
- Occasional driving duties for family members
- Occasional dog care, including walking and pet appointments
- Helping to ensure the property remains secure and well managed when unoccupied
About You
You will be an experienced private household professional who enjoys taking ownership of a home and anticipates the needs of the family before being asked.
You will be:
- An experienced Housekeeper / Cook with previous private household experience
- Organised, proactive and highly detail-oriented
- A confident family cook with a passion for healthy, nutritious food
- Trustworthy, discreet and professional
- A natural problem solver who enjoys working independently
- Flexible and adaptable with a positive, can-do attitude
- A confident driver, comfortable driving in both rural areas and London
- Dog friendly and happy around family pets
