About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow ITOM Developer to join our UK Public Sector practice, delivering enterprise ServiceNow implementations and enhancements for UK Government clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) solutions across Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB, and Cloud Discovery while ensuring alignment with government security and operational standards. This is a client-facing role requiring strong technical expertise, consulting skills, and the ability to lead technical delivery within Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable ServiceNow ITOM solutions.
- Lead implementation of Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB, Cloud Discovery, and MID Server architecture.
- Develop custom applications, workflows, integrations, and automation using the ServiceNow platform.
- Configure Discovery patterns, probes, sensors, and identification rules.
- Develop integrations using REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers.
- Optimize CMDB health, governance, and data quality.
Solution Design
- Participate in solution architecture and technical design workshops.
- Translate business and operational requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions.
- Recommend platform best practices and technical improvements.
- Support platform upgrades and new feature adoption.
Client Engagement
- Work closely with Government stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, and project managers.
- Conduct technical workshops and design reviews.
- Provide technical leadership during implementation and hypercare phases.
- Mentor junior developers and technical consultants.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
- Contribute to reusable assets and internal knowledge sharing.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 6-10 years of IT experience.
- Minimum 4 years of ServiceNow ITOM implementation experience.
Certifications (Preferred)
- ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (desirable)
Security Requirements
- Active UK Government Security Check (SC) Clearance - Mandatory
- Ability to work on UK Government projects requiring secure environments.
- Willingness to work onsite in London as required.
