Silcom Recruitment is actively seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician on behalf of one of our highly regarded and forward thinking clients, based on the outskirts of Portsmouth. Our client is offering a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Diagnostic Technician to join their professional workshop team. This position will see you working with a wide range of modern vehicles, focusing on advanced diagnostics, fault finding, and complex repairs to the highest standards.
Responsibilities & Requirements of a Diagnostic Technician:
- Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and rectification using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Perform servicing, maintenance, and repair work in line with manufacturer standards.
- Accurately identify electrical and mechanical faults, providing efficient and effective solutions.
- Communicate clearly with the Service Manager and workshop team regarding diagnostic findings and repair progress.
- Occasionally support and advise other technicians with complex diagnostic issues.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven experience in a Diagnostic Technician or Senior Technician role.
- Strong diagnostic and electrical fault-finding skills.
- A methodical approach with excellent problem-solving ability.
Package:
- Salary: Up to £45,000 basic per annum (depending on experience). Plus bonus.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (30-minute lunch). Occasional weekend support in the business (Saturday mornings only). Not currently on rota.
