Silcom Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Service Advisor to join an established main dealership based in Chichester. This position is being offered on an initial 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC), with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. Our client is seeking a customer-focused and professional individual who ideally has previous experience working within a Service Advisor position. However, candidates with relevant automotive customer service experience will also be considered.

The successful candidate will join a busy aftersales department, acting as the key point of contact between customers and the workshop while ensuring an excellent level of service throughout the customer journey.

Responsibilities & Requirements of a Service Advisor:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout their vehicle's service and repair journey.
  • Welcome customers into the dealership and accurately identify their servicing, maintenance and repair requirements.
  • Book vehicles in for servicing, repairs, MOTs and routine maintenance, ensuring appointments are scheduled efficiently.
  • Carry out the vehicle handover and intake process, accurately recording mileage, vehicle condition and customer requirements.
  • Liaise closely with technicians and the workshop team to ensure work is completed efficiently and customers are kept informed of progress.
  • Provide customers with clear updates regarding required work, timescales and associated costs.
  • Recommend additional maintenance, repairs or services where appropriate and in line with manufacturer recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out, customer authorisations and future service requirements.
  • Process relevant warranty documentation and assist with warranty-related repairs where required.
  • Ensure completed vehicles are handed back to customers professionally, clearly explaining the work undertaken.
  • Handle customer queries or concerns promptly and professionally, working to achieve a positive resolution.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of customer service and contribute towards departmental customer satisfaction and performance targets.
  • Strong communication, organisation and customer service skills are essential.

The Package:

Basic Salary of £28,320 + OTE of £35,000 (Uncapped). Monday to Friday 8:00am – 6:00pm + (1-in-12) Saturdays (half day).
