Position: Freelance Zulu Interpreter
Location: Remote and Various locations in the U.K.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate interpretation services between Zulu and English
- Assist in facilitating effective communication for Zulu-speaking individuals in a variety of settings, including healthcare, legal, educational, and social contexts
- Maintain detailed records of assignments and adhere to client-specific guidelines
- Comply with our rigorous Code of Conduct
- Furnish a precise, confidential, and unbiased interpreting service
- Uphold the utmost quality by adhering to all interpreting standards
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Demonstrate outstanding communication, language, and organisational abilities
- Be punctual, dependable, confident, enthusiastic, and professional
- Maintain impartiality and fairness, displaying courtesy towards clients and service users
- Demonstrate a profound understanding of the culture of both languages
Requirements
- Proficiency in Zulu and English
- Prior experience as Zulu interpreter
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to professionalism and confidentiality
- Flexibility and availability for freelance assignments
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ Interpreting experience
- Community Interpreting Level 3 Certificate
- DPSI
- Any other qualifications related to Interpreting or Translation
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Languages, Translation, Interpretation or Linguistics
- Ph.D. or Doctoral in Linguistics
- Certificate of Higher Education in Translation, Interpretation, Languages, Philology or Linguistics
