JOB DETAILS:
- Contract: permanent - Part time
- Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, with hours of work between 08:00-20:00. 36 hours per week.

JOB PURPOSE: The postholder will be responsible and point of contact for all matters relating to travel healthcare, immunisations and sexual screening queries, as well as service organisation, timeline, and budgets. The postholder will maintain excellent standards, ensuring governance compliance is maintained.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and monitor an effective, evidence-based and competent level of care within the service area.
- Work collaboratively to support the organisation, wider team members and stakeholders, to facilitate cohesion and the smooth continuity of service delivery.
- Accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, auditing, and the evaluation of nursing practices within the team.
- Facilitate training and take responsibility for clinical supervision and the performance and development of staff.
- Work within and take responsibility for regulatory compliance standards such as CQC, NaTHNaC, PHE or PHS as applicable.
- Responsible for undertaking assessing clinical competencies, in line with RCN competency recommendations, providing reflective practice, and ensuring clinical staff undertake a comprehensive clinical induction.
- Monitor, manage & maintain standards of clinical performance, staff rotas, annual leave and sickness and absence.
- Act as a mentor and go-to person for all clinical queries from nurses and the team.
- Ensure all clinical incidents, near misses and complaints are accurately reported, monitored and processed in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Oversee and complete audits, writing appropriate reports and making recommendations based on findings and sharing outcomes with the team/s for learning.
- Actively and constructively contribute to team leads meetings and arrange to disseminate and communicate information and changes within own service areas on a regular basis.
- Responsible to provide team meetings with minutes that are shared with Clinical Director.
- Ensure documentations within the service area are accurate and contemporaneous and staff are inducted and compliant with the patient database system - Xmedicus.
- Assist the Clinical Director and undertake duties commensurate with the level of this position.
- Support the management of personnel – staff Inductions, performance reviews, disciplinaries, grievances and liaise with Human Resources for assistance when needed.
- Be responsible for recruiting processes within your team.
- Attend, support and deputise meetings as requested from the Clinical Director.
- Support Senior Management Team as and when applicable.
- Comply with Company policies & procedures.
- Undertake duties commensurate with the level of this position.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- MNC – RN on part 1 of the NMC register.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Evidence of post-registration travel education/qualification relevant to specialties.
- RCN competency level 6 or 7.
- Yellow Fever trained.
- BSc or MSc equivalent.
- Substantial knowledge and recent experience in the specialty of travel and sexual health, with the skills and knowledge to manage complex travellers.
- Experience in teaching and supporting staff development.
- Good understanding and experience of providing cost effectiveness.
- Experience of people management including developing and training of staff.
- Assisting and managing performance and company KPI’s.
- Ability to clearly and concisely present information, performance data and action points.
- Experience of PGD and PSD frameworks.
- Auditing.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Assertive and excellent people management skills.
- Understands and implements the principles of informed consent.
- Computer literate.
- Mentorship or Leadership skills.
DESIRABLE:
- Independent Prescriber (desirable).
- Mantoux/BCG experience (desirable).
