JOB DETAILS:

Job title: Clinical Lead.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract

Working Hours:Monday to Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm.

JOB PURPOSE:

The post holder is responsible for ensuring Vaccination UK’s immunisation programme is compliant with CQC guidance in accordance with the fundamental standards and immunisation nurses work to a high clinical standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure school-aged children who are vaccinated within the program are treated professionally and patient safety is prioritised.
  • Monitor vaccination programs to ensure they are running safely and up to high clinical standards.
  • Support management in delivering the vaccination program by maintaining regular contact with clinical staff to ensure they are working within Vaccination UK policies and standards.
  • Address safeguarding concerns raised by nurses, escalate to the Clinical Director and attend quarterly supervision provided by Vaccination UK.
  • Act as the primary contact for nurses regarding any clinical queries or safeguarding concerns raised by staff.
  • Provide support to Senior Management for all compliance-related matters, ensuring we operate according to regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive record-keeping for all formal and informal clinical supervision, staff training and recruitment, and incidents and complaints to comply with CQC standards.
  • Attend CQC inspections as required.
  • Conduct annual performance development reviews for clinical staff, assessing clinical competencies, and ensuring that clinical staff undertake a comprehensive clinical induction.
  • Document training and support sessions according to Vaccination UK standards and requirements.
  • Work with Senior Management to ensure accurate recording of clinical incidents and complaints, allocate investigating officers appropriately, and complete outcome forms.
  • Act as a liaison with Senior Management to ensure organisational learning and patient safety are optimised.
  • Assist in recruiting nursing staff and allocating mentors for new nursing staff, as well as undertaking the induction process for new staff.
  • Plan and implement formal clinical supervision sessions with immunisation nurses at a minimum interval of every three months.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position.
  • Comply with Company policies & procedures.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Nurses and Midwives currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Nursing and/or Midwifery Qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Working within PGD frameworks.
  • Safeguarding trained
  • Immunisation essential
  • Managerial / Leadership
  • Good IT Skills.
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational, time-management and record keeping skills.
  • Assertive, team player and critical thinker.
