Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain virtual routing and network management software components
- Support design and implementation of SDN solutions and VNFs
- Create verification and validation activities for routing, switching and network management
- Build automated test frameworks, scripts and regression suites
- Perform functional, integration, system and performance testing of virtual routing platforms
- Troubleshoot complex routing, protocol and interoperability issues
- Support development and optimisation of IP networking services in virtualised environments
- Validate routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP, ISIS, MPLS, multicast) where applicable
- Produce design docs, test specs and verification evidence
- Conduct protocol analysis with standard tools and packet capture technologies
- Coordinate system integration with platform, security and communications teams
- Participate in configuration management, releases and deployment
- Contribute to secure-by-design principles and cyber security assessments
- Engage with customers to define acceptance criteria and support qualification
- Support defect investigation and root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Key requirements
- Proven experience in software development, integration or testing of networking systems
- Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals and routing technologies
- Experience with virtualised network environments and SDN architectures
- Experience creating and executing structured test procedures and automated test frameworks
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, Multicast
- Experience using Linux-based development environments
- Experience with Wireshark, tcpdump or equivalent
- Understanding of SDLC and configuration management processes
- Experience producing technical documentation, test specs and verification evidence
