We are looking for experienced Work Package Managers / Engineering Delivery Managers to lead the delivery of complex engineering programmes in Belfast. This role sits at the heart of programme execution, ensuring that engineering activities are delivered on time, within cost, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the engineering delivery baseline (scope, schedule, cost) for assigned programmes or work packages
- Develop and maintain integrated engineering plans, including resource forecasting and dependencies
- Drive delivery to meet milestones, cost targets, and quality requirements
- Apply earned value management (EVM) and other controls to track performance and forecast outcomes
- Identify, manage, and mitigate delivery risks and issues
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including systems, software, hardware, and integration
- Ensure alignment with programme governance and lifecycle processes
- Provide clear and concise reporting to programme and senior stakeholders
- Support bid and proposal activities with engineering planning and cost estimation
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in engineering delivery, project management, or work package management within complex programmes
- Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle and integration challenges
- Demonstrable experience managing cost, schedule, and delivery performance
- Experience using planning and control tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, EVM tools)
- Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Must be eligible for UK security clearance
Desirable Skills
- Experience in defence, aerospace, or safety‑critical environments
- Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches
- Knowledge of Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
