We are looking for an experienced Senior Ground Systems Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of mission-critical ground segment systems. This role covers the full lifecycle, from design to operational support, ensuring seamless integration between Mission & Systems and Operations teams. This is a unique opportunity to work across all aspects of the ground segment and support operational activities at the customer’s control centre.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and design ground segment systems, including mission management, ground station interfaces, and operations software.

• Define technical requirements and ensure alignment between internal teams and external suppliers as a Product Owner or Technical Officer.

• Use Agile (SCRUM) methodologies to manage timelines, track progress, and implement requirements.

• Produce and maintain documentation such as requirements, test plans, and user manuals.

• Perform system integration, verification, and validation, including testing and simulations.

• Train and support mission operations teams using ground systems.

• Troubleshoot and maintain ground segment components in collaboration with development teams.

SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related engineering field.

• 5+ years of experience in satellite ground systems and the space industry.

• Strong knowledge of ground segment architecture, including mission control and planning systems.

• Team player with proactive problem-solving and excellent communication skills.

• Skilled in technical documentation, requirements engineering, and verification/validation.

Thorough understanding of space mission lifecycle and milestones Desirable:

• Experience with SCOS-2000 and automated mission planning systems.

• Knowledge of satellite operations, product lifecycle management, and standards (ECSS, CCSDS).

• Proficiency in Agile development, C++/Java programming, and Linux-based development.

• Familiarity with Linux administration and scripting tools.
