We are seeking an experienced RF Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration and testing of advanced RF communications and radar systems in Templecombe. The successful candidate will work across the full RF engineering lifecycle, contributing to system design, circuit development, simulation, verification and performance analysis within complex defence and communications environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop RF systems and subsystems for communications and radar applications
- Support RF circuit design activities including both passive and active RF components
- Perform RF modelling, simulation and analysis using industry-standard toolsets
- Support system integration, verification and testing activities
- Conduct RF performance analysis, troubleshooting and optimisation
- Contribute to antenna selection, design and performance evaluation activities
- Produce technical documentation, reports and engineering artefacts
- Support design reviews and technical decision-making activities
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong experience in RF systems engineering
- Experience with RF circuit design and testing
- Understanding of communications and/or radar systems
- Experience across a broad RF frequency range (10 KHz – 6 GHz)
- Experience with RF measurement and test equipment
- Knowledge of passive and active RF design techniques
- Experience using Keysight ADS (Advanced Design System)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Experience working up to 40 GHz frequency ranges
- Satellite Communications (SATCOM) experience
- Antenna design and development experience
- Knowledge of Electronic Warfare concepts including RF spoofing and Signal interference analysis
- MATLAB experience
- Defence, aerospace or security-sector experience
- Security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance
