THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to support high-reliability, clean-room based programmes. The role will focus on technical investigations, fault analysis, and verification of complex systems. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams to analyse test results, identify issues, and ensure quality and compliance in a clean-room environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform technical investigations and fault-finding on complex electronic and RF systems in a controlled clean-room environment.
- Review and interpret test results, identifying anomalies and providing actionable feedback.
- Operate, configure, and maintain test equipment including RF and EMC test tools.
- Conduct EMC testing and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Follow and enforce clean-room procedures and safety protocols.
- Work with analogue and digital circuits, including ADC/DAC systems, and support troubleshooting across system-level interfaces.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support root-cause analysis and propose mitigation or design improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of investigations, findings, and recommendations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in testing methodology, tooling, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong experience in technical investigations and fault analysis.
- Solid understanding of test equipment, RF systems, and EMC testing.
- Hands-on experience in clean-room environments and adherence to protocols.
- Knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design.
- Experience with ADC/DAC systems and signal integrity testing.
- Familiarity with measurement techniques and instrumentation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills for reporting technical findings to multidisciplinary teams.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Previous experience in high-reliability aerospace or defence programmes.
- Exposure to automated test frameworks.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and software tools for test analysis.
- Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
- Professional certifications in testing, EMC, or related areas are a plus.
