We are looking for an experienced Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) to lead the delivery of complex engineering programmes. This role sits at the heart of programme execution, ensuring that engineering activities are delivered on time, within cost, and to the required quality standards. You will act as the bridge between engineering teams and programme leadership, taking ownership of planning, coordination, and delivery performance across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of engineering scope to cost, schedule, performance, and quality targets
  • Define and manage engineering work packages, including scope, deliverables, milestones, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop and maintain integrated engineering plans, including dependencies, critical paths, and cross‑discipline coordination
  • Lead engineering delivery across the full lifecycle, including requirements, design, integration, verification, validation, and qualification
  • Coordinate and lead design reviews, technical reviews, and lifecycle gates
  • Ensure delivery of engineering artefacts, including Engineering Management Plans, review documentation, and lifecycle evidence
  • Lead integration planning and execution across systems, software, and hardware domains
  • Monitor delivery performance using engineering metrics and drive corrective actions
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and delivery dependencies
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage engagement with key stakeholders
  • Provide clear and concise reporting to programme and senior stakeholders
  • Support bid and proposal activities with engineering planning and cost estimation

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in engineering delivery, project management, or work package management within complex programmes
  • Previous hands-on engineering experience in: electronics, hardware, systems or firmware engineering
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle and integration challenges
  • Demonstrable experience managing cost, schedule, and delivery performance
  • Experience using planning and control tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, EVM tools)
  • Demonstrated background in leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Proven capability in integration planning and execution, including managing dependencies and ensuring readiness for integration and verification activities
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working within configuration-controlled, safety-critical, or regulated engineering environments (e.g. defence, aerospace, rail, nuclear)

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches
  • Knowledge of Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Understanding of risk management and safety/security considerations
