We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Test Engineer to contribute to complex aerospace integration and validation programmes.
This position involves working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment to support ground and flight-based verification activities across critical aircraft systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute system-level validation activities across mechanical and fluid-based aircraft subsystems within a live engineering environment.
- Support the end-to‑end lifecycle of airborne test campaigns, including preparation, configuration verification, and active participation during test operations.
- Generate comprehensive and well‑structured technical documentation capturing test results, observations, and engineering insights.
- Analyze large datasets obtained from testing activities, applying statistical techniques and engineering judgment to interpret system behaviours.
- Investigate anomalies identified during testing, contributing to structured troubleshooting processes and supporting root cause investigations.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including design, operations, and validation specialists, to communicate technical findings and propose solutions.
- Operate efficiently under tight deadlines, adapting to shifting priorities within a dynamic project environment.
- Continuously adopt new tools, digital capabilities, and engineering approaches to enhance testing efficiency and output quality.
- Key Skills
- Strong foundational knowledge of aerospace systems and their operational principles.
- Ability to quickly understand and adopt new tools, workflows, and internally developed systems.
- Resilience and adaptability when working in high-pressure, delivery-focused environments.
- Advanced data manipulation and analysis capability, particularly using Microsoft Excel.
- Clear and precise technical communication skills, with a focus on structured reporting.
- Analytical mindset with exposure to data processing techniques such as signal analysis and mathematical modelling.
- Programming capability (e. g., Python or similar) for automation, data handling, or analysis is advantageous.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience within an aerospace or high-integrity engineering environment.
- Involvement in system verification, validation, or performance testing activities.
- Background in processing, interpreting, and reporting on engineering data.
- Practical experience in fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, or investigative engineering tasks.
- Exposure to integrated system testing or operational test environments is beneficial but not essential.
