We are looking for a skilled Sign Maker and Installer to join our friendly, professional team at Signs Express (Basildon) to help us create and install a wide and exciting range of signage. The perfect candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude, be able to maintain our high standards of workmanship and quality, be self-motivated and be a good role model for the rest of the team.
Location: Signs Express Basildon
Salary: From £26,000 to £30,000 per year dependent on experience
Working Hours: Full-time position, Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm (possible work outside of normal hours if needed)
Travel: A full, clean driving licence and own transport is essential for local travel

Duties Include:
- Installing all types of internal and external signage, including fascia and post mounted signs.
- Ensuring all installations are completed on time, to budget and to our usual high standards.
- Sign making, working with a wide range of substrates including Dibond, acrylics, metals, wood, vinyl and Foamex, to a consistently high standard.
- Application of vinyl onto a variety of substrates including vehicles and window graphics.
- Interpreting briefs accurately with a great understanding of different signage and manufacturing techniques.
- Operate and maintain large format printers, vinyl cutters and laminators.
- Following all company procedures and guidelines to ensure all signs are fitted safely and securely.
- Ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements are understood and followed.
- Taking responsibility for your own and others’ health and safety when working.
- Providing outstanding customer service to our clients and others at all times.
- Assisting in-house production staff when required.
What we would like from you:
- A minimum of 5 years' industry experience making and installing a wide range of signage solutions.
- Proven experience in a sign fitting role is absolutely necessary, encompassing vehicle graphics application, panel application, installation.
- You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be well organised and be able to work alone as well as part of our team.
- The ability to interpret briefs accurately.
- IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations (desirable but not essential).
- Professional, flexible, enthusiastic individual, a strong communicator, well organised and be able to work alone, as well as part of a team.
- An understanding of the importance of health & safety.
- You will have the use of our company vehicles during the working day, with all tools, uniform and PPE also being provided.
