Signs Express (Sheffield/Rotherham) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Signage Technician Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the signage industry. You will learn the entire process of signage production and installation, from design to fitting, while gaining valuable hands-on experience and recognised qualifications.

Location: Signs Express (Sheffield), Unit 18 Aspen Court, Centurion Business Park, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, S60 1FB

Salary: In-line with government apprenticeship rates

Working Hours: Full-time position, Monday-Friday

About Us

As an established, family run, award-winning business servicing Sheffield, Rotherham and the surrounding areas, we are part of the UK and Ireland’s leading signage and graphics network with an excellent reputation for bespoke solutions, delivered with excellent customer care.

Duties Include:

  • Assist in the production and fabrication of various types of signage including vinyl graphics, vehicle wraps, banners, and illuminated signs.
  • Learn to interpret and work from design briefs, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Support the installation team with fitting signage at client locations, ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety.
  • Operate specialist equipment such as vinyl cutters, large format printers, laser engraver, and CNC routers.
  • Develop skills in surface preparation and applying materials to various surfaces including vehicles, walls, and windows.
  • Work closely with the production team to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality signage solutions.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment in the workshop and on-site.
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of tools, machinery, and equipment.
