Role Description

As a Digital Marketing Executive at Signs Express Ltd, you will improve the digital performance of the franchise network primarily through effective SEO and organic visibility growth, with additional support across email marketing, reputation management, and website content updates for franchisees. This role plays a key part in improving how Signs Express is discovered across the UK & I. The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of organic visibility performance within a multi-location business, using SEO to increase discoverability, improve customer journeys, and generate measurable enquiry growth across the network.

Location: Based in our national head office on the outskirts of Norwich (Framingham Pigot), with flexible arrangements to work from home (up to 6 days per month). Role will involve occasional nationwide travel to franchised centres.

Hours of work: Full-time [8.30am-5.00pm Mon- Fri]

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Reporting to: Head of Marketing

Key Responsibilities

  • Local SEO & Digital Visibility
    • Conduct audits of existing website content across the Signs Express network to identify opportunities for improved search visibility.
    • Analyse competitor content within the signs and graphics industry to identify gaps and opportunities to increase our visibility within priority search categories.
    • Create and refine content that strengthens local search rankings and improves the relevance of the Signs Express website for key commercial search terms.
    • Support improvements to on-page SEO, including metadata, internal linking, content structure, and location page optimisation.
    • Identify opportunities to keep on top of emerging schemas and structured data types to strengthen search performance.
    • Monitor organic search performance and provide recommendations to improve rankings and visibility.
    • Collaborate with agency partners to deliver visibility growth against key metrics.
  • Central Email Marketing Campaigns
    • Plan and execute central e-mail marketing campaigns that support ambitious lead generation targets for 2026.
    • Manage campaign creation, segmentation, scheduling and reporting within Mailchimp.
    • Develop automated e-mail journeys to nurture leads and support customer engagement.
    • Monitor campaign performance, including open rates, click-through rates and conversions, and implement improvements to optimise results.
    • Ensure the e-mail database remains clean, compliant and well-maintained.
  • Reputation Management & Local Listings
    • Manage the network’s reputation management platform (Birdeye) to improve review capture, review quality and overall reputation health.
    • Support franchisees in generating customer reviews and responding effectively to feedback.
    • Monitor reputation metrics and identify opportunities to improve review volume and sentiment.
    • Maintain accurate local listings across digital platforms to ensure consistency of business information.
    • Use reporting insights from Birdeye to identify opportunities for improved local visibility and customer trust.
  • Franchisee CMS Support & Website Helpdesk
    • Provide a support function for franchisees requesting updates to website content through the CMS.
    • Implement content updates that improve accuracy, local relevance and SEO performance.
    • Assist franchisees with website changes, including service descriptions, imagery updates and location information.
    • Triaging and escalating technical issues where necessary.
    • Ensure the Signs Express website remains accurate, up to date and aligned with best practice for usability and search performance.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in SEO, use of GA4 and Search Console, digital marketing and website optimisation.
  • Strong understanding of on-page and local SEO.
  • Experience in auditing and improving website content.
  • Ability to create and optimise content for search performance.
  • Experience working with a CMS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to support internal stakeholders and franchisees.
  • Experience of using an SEO Toolset.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport preferred, due to occasional travel to franchise locations and meetings.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience of using an SEO Toolset, such as SEMRush, SE Ranking or similar.
  • Experience using Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms (training can be provided).
  • Experience using Birdeye or similar reputation management platforms (training can be provided).
  • Experience working with and collaborating with agency partners.
  • Experience using an Umbraco-based CMS. (training can be provided).
  • Design experience using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva would be advantageous.
