Senior Principal Engineer Duration: 6 Month Contract initially Location : East London – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote per week Rate : £500-£600 per day (Outside IR35) Tech: React, Scala, TypeScript, AWS, TDD About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Principal Engineer to join a fast-paced healthcare technology project for a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative solutions in the healthcare sector, leading a team of engineers and driving technical excellence. You will use your expertise in React, Scala and AWS to deliver high-quality solutions while mentoring and coaching junior engineers. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of high-performance, scalable applications using React, Scala, TypeScript, and AWS. Guide and mentor a team of engineers, helping them solve complex technical challenges and grow in their careers. Tackle difficult challenges, identify bottlenecks, and come up with innovative solutions to meet business needs. Work closely with product managers, architects, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. Ensure the team adheres to software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and continuous integration. Required Skills and Experience: Strong expertise in building dynamic, user-friendly web applications with React. Extensive experience developing with Scala for backend systems and microservices. Proficient in using TypeScript for scalable and maintainable frontend development. Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, to build and deploy scalable applications. Prior experience in healthcare technology or working with healthcare-related data is a strong advantage. Proven ability to mentor and lead engineering teams, guiding them through challenges and ensuring successful project outcomes. Ability to work through complex challenges, provide solutions, and maintain high levels of productivity under pressure. Desirable Skills: Experience in building solutions within the healthcare sector Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
