We’re working with a large-scale, consumer-facing technology business to hire a Director of Software Engineering for a senior leadership role based in London. This position is centred on building and scaling software platforms that directly drive revenue, operating at significant scale today with ambitious growth targets ahead. The organisation already runs a platform that has contributed to circa £100m in revenue. The next phase is about serious scale, growing from approximately £90m ARR towards a 10x outcome over time. This role is ideal for an engineering leader who has operated in environments where software is core to commercial success, not a support function.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Set and execute engineering strategy aligned to aggressive revenue growth
- Lead the development and scaling of core, revenue-generating platforms
- Operate at senior leadership level, partnering closely with Product and Commercial teams
- Build, develop, and retain high-performing engineering leadership
- Ensure platforms are scalable, reliable, and ready for long-term growth
Team Structure
- 3 direct reports (senior engineering leaders)
- ~30 engineers across multiple teams
What We’re Looking For
- Experience at Director or VP of Engineering level
- Strong background in scaling teams and platforms in complex environments
- Proven exposure to revenue-critical systems (platforms, SaaS, marketplaces, data-heavy products, etc.)
This role comes with clear ownership of platforms with clear commercial impact. Working on large-scale systems with ambitious growth plans. With real influence across the business.
