My client is looking for an Engineering Manager to join a high growth fintech startup at a really exciting stage. This is a hands‑off role for someone who enjoys being close to the product, working with a small team, and helping shape both the technical direction and how the team operates as we scale. You’ll be working closely with product and leadership, owning delivery end-to-end, and playing a key role in how we use technology, including AI, to move faster and build better. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to sit at a distance; we need someone pragmatic, sleeves rolled up, and comfortable wearing a few different hats when needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading a small team of engineers, creating a high-performing, low-ego environment
- Working closely with Product to translate ideas into well-scoped, deliverable solutions
- Staying close to the code where needed
- Owning end-to-end delivery across both frontend and backend
- Helping define and improve engineering standards
- Driving smarter ways of working, including use of AI and automation to improve speed and quality
- Taking ownership beyond just engineering infrastructure, tooling, and general problem solving as things come up
- Being comfortable operating in ambiguity and making pragmatic decisions quickly
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager in a fintech or regulated environment
- Background working in a startup or scale‑up, ideally with small teams and fast pace
- Strong hands‑on technical background across:
- Frontend – React / TypeScript
- Backend – Node.js, Kotlin
- AWS / cloud infrastructure
