At Signet Jewelers, home to iconic brands including H. Samuel and Ernest Jones, buying is about more than just product – it’s about craftsmanship, storytelling, and creating pieces that mark life’s most meaningful moments.

We’re now looking for a Junior Buyer to join our Diamond category team – a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Buyer ready to step up and take ownership within one of our most commercially important and emotive categories.

About the Role

As Junior Buyer, you’ll take ownership of developing and trading our diamond jewellery ranges, working closely with Merchandise Planning and Sourcing to deliver ranges that excite customers and deliver on sales, margin, and stock targets.

This is a highly visible role where you’ll combine commercial acumen with product passion, leveraging trend insight, customer behaviour, and global sourcing opportunities – including close collaboration with our US teams.

From shaping category strategy to trading performance day-to-day, you’ll play a key role across the full product lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define and deliver seasonal and annual strategies for the diamond category
  • Build commercial, customer-led ranges using trend, performance, and competitor insight
  • Source and develop products with suppliers, ensuring quality, cost, compliance, and ethical sourcing (including Kimberley Process)
  • Negotiate cost prices, lead times, and supplier terms to drive profitability
  • Partner with Merchandise Planning to optimise sales, margin, intake margin, and stock performance
  • Plan and execute promotional activity that drives traffic, conversion, and margin while protecting brand perception
  • Monitor and react to product performance, taking action to maximise sell-through and manage terminal stock
  • Collaborate with Marketing, VM, and Retail teams to bring product stories to life in-store and online
  • Present ranges and strategies at key milestone meetings
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the business
  • Manage and develop at least one direct report within the Buying Admin team

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven performance as an Assistant Buyer in a multi-site retail environment
  • Strong commercial mindset with excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • A keen eye for product, trends, and customer behaviour
  • Confidence in negotiation, supplier management, and decision making
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous jewellery, luxury, or diamond category experience is desirable but not essential
  • Passion for working in a fast‑paced, collaborative retail environment

We are passionate about our profession, and together we can help you realise your full potential. Come and be part of Signet Jewelers and enjoy the following fantastic benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Generous discount of up to 30% off our fabulous products from day one.
  • An annual enhanced discount to celebrate the day you joined our team.
  • Retirement Savings plans which offer flexibility in the way you save for the future.
  • Immediate Life Assurance from day one.
  • A minimum of 22 days holiday per year which increases after a years’ service.
  • Recognised qualifications, study support and structured career progression.
  • Health and Wellbeing Scheme.
  • Financial Wellbeing scheme.
  • Give As You Earn scheme – An easy way to support causes close to your heart.
  • Real Rewards – exclusive discounts on groceries, travel and leisure.
