Job Description
Job Title: Financial Accountant – 6-Month ContractLocation: Slough, UK (Hybrid)Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary (6 months)
A leading international provider of enterprise software solutions for the travel industry is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join its Finance team on a six-month temporary basis. This is a key role supporting the Group Financial Controller in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial data critical to the decision-making process at senior levels.
About the Role
This role is well-suited to an experienced accountant with a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and hands-on experience using Xero accounting software. You will take ownership of one of the Group’s trading entities, ensuring accuracy in financial records and compliance with relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including journal entries, payroll, R&D accounting, and intercompany transactions.

Take full ownership of revenue recognition for one of the trading entities, ensuring correct application of accounting standards from order through to invoicing.

Perform reconciliations of financial statement line items and provide detailed variance analysis to budget.

Maintain accurate accounting records for P&L and balance sheet activities.

Oversee and update the Group’s financial model with historical and forecast data.

Assist with Group payroll forecasting and cash flow management.

Manage financial operations for the Australian legal entity.

Support statutory reporting, tax filings, audit preparation, and compliance with accounting standards.

Contribute to group-level reports and provide support for annual budget preparation.

Essential Skills and Experience

Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

Minimum of 2 years in a similar financial accounting role

Proven experience with revenue recognition and its application in complex business models

Strong proficiency in Xero accounting software

Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (advanced level)

Analytical and detail-focused approach with strong commercial awareness

Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines

Proven track record of handling confidential information with discretion

Additional Information

This position is based in Slough, UK. During probation, you will be required to work from the office full-time. A hybrid model (3 days in-office, 2 remote) is available thereafter.
