Role Summary
We are partnering with a well-established organisation to support the recruitment of a Finance Business Partner. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a business undergoing a period of transformation and change, while playing a key role in supporting day-to-day financial performance.
The successful candidate will operate in a hybrid Finance Business Partner role, combining traditional P&L partnering responsibilities with exposure to Capex and project-related finance activities. Working closely with operational and project stakeholders, you will support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance management across both Opex and Capex activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial business partnering support to operational and project delivery teams.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Support financial reporting across both operational expenditure (Opex) and capital expenditure (Capex) activities.
- Work closely with project and delivery teams to monitor spend, project phasing, and financial performance.
- Assist with investment appraisals and financial decision‑making.
- Deliver insightful analysis and challenge to support effective business decisions.
- Build strong relationships with non‑finance stakeholders across the organisation.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial controls and planning processes.
- Opportunity to develop greater involvement in capital finance and investment activities over time.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a Finance Business Partner or commercial finance role.
- Strong P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting experience.
- Exposure to capital expenditure, project finance, or investment‑related activities, or a strong willingness to develop in this area.
- Ability to partner effectively with operational, engineering, project, or delivery‑focused stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence in providing challenge, insight, and financial guidance to senior stakeholders.
- Experience working within large, complex organisations undergoing change.
- Prior experience within infrastructure, utilities, engineering, construction, manufacturing, transportation, or other asset‑intensive sectors would be advantageous.
