A major UK organisation is searching for a high-impact Financial Controller to take ownership of financial operations, strengthen control, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business. This is a senior leadership position with visibility at the highest levels and the ability to drive real change. You’ll lead a team of 8 finance professionals and act as a trusted partner across the organisation, combining technical excellence with commercial awareness. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners to ensure the business operates with clarity, confidence and control. Your ability to influence, challenge and guide decision-making will be central to your success. This is a demanding, high-visibility role ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys shaping strategy, and wants to lead a high-performing finance team through ongoing transformation.
What You’ll Own:
- End-to-end finance operations, consolidation, reporting and compliance
- External audit management and delivery of annual reports and accounts
- Coordination of internal audit activity across Group and local teams
- Ownership of Group accounting policies and technical accounting guidance
- Implementation of a robust control framework and continuous improvement of financial governance
- Oversight of statutory and tax compliance, including HMRC relationships and external advisors
- Delivery of all external reporting requirements
- Acting as a key contributor to the UK & Ireland Finance Strategy
What You Bring:
- ACA (or equivalent) with strong PQE and deep expertise in UK GAAP and IFRS
- Significant experience in financial operations, reporting, control and tax
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, including Execs
- Experience leading and developing large teams
- Ideal background of a Product/Manufacturing based business
- Strong technical judgement with the confidence to advise on complex accounting decisions
- Exceptional communication skills, credibility, and the ability to challenge constructively
