Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Supervisor to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who combines strong purchase ledger experience with a broader understanding of accounting processes and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will take ownership of the purchase ledger function while supporting wider finance operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the Purchase Ledger function, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Post and maintain accounting ledgers in accordance with company procedures.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective management of accounts payable activities.
  • Assist with month-end processes and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement more efficient ways of working.
  • Support the adoption and utilisation of finance systems, including new technologies and AI-enabled tools where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.

  • Strong experience within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable environment.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting principles and ledger management.
  • Experience reconciling supplier statements and resolving account queries.

  • Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills.
