We are currently seeking an ER Advisor for a 12 months maternity cover commencing in July, where you’ll play a key role within our Employee Relations team, managing the full end to end process of ER support to our H. Samuel and Ernest Jones retail stores, as well as our two Store Support Centres.

In this busy and valuable role, you'll provide confident first and second-line ER advice on matters including disciplinary procedures, grievances, flexible working requests, absence management, and performance concerns. You’ll also be responsible for the full administration of each case — from drafting correspondence and outcome letters to ensuring accurate data entry into our case management system.

About You

  • Previous experience delivering ER advice with a strong customer-focused mindset.
  • Background in HR/ER ideally within a large, multi-site businesses (ideally in retail, hospitality, or leisure).
  • Solid, up-to-date knowledge of UK Employee Relations practices.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Proven administrative experience — ideally within an HR/ER setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with confidence liaising at all levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • HR-related degree or CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) qualification preferred.

This role offers a hybrid working pattern with 2 days based in our Birmingham office and 3 days remotely per week. This role will commence mid-July for the duration of 12 months.
