Signatus are partnering with a respected Northern Ireland legal practice to recruit a Medical Negligence Paralegal for a busy and growing department in Derry. This role will suit a Paralegal or Legal Assistant who enjoys organised case work, client contact and the detail needed to progress sensitive medical negligence claims. You will support solicitors from file opening through to conclusion, helping to keep evidence, deadlines, documents and clients properly managed.

What you will own:

  • Supporting solicitors with the day to day progression of medical negligence claims
  • Drafting correspondence, legal documents and court papers
  • Liaising with clients, medical experts, healthcare providers and other parties
  • Obtaining, reviewing and organising medical records and evidence
  • Preparing briefs, chronologies and case summaries
  • Managing diaries, appointments and court deadlines
  • Updating case management records and supporting internal compliance
  • Delivering a professional and caring client experience

Must have:

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant within a law firm
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and case management systems

Helpful but not essential:

  • Medical negligence, personal injury or litigation experience
  • Experience working with medical records, court papers or case chronologies
