At Signatus, we represent commercial insurance brokerages throughout Ireland who value long-term client partnerships over quick wins. This Account Executive role is ideal for an account executive who is ready to take ownership of a high-quality client portfolio and build lasting relationships across a diverse commercial base.
This is a growth-focused opportunity within a well-established regional company that offers both autonomy and internal support. You will work with commercial and corporate clients across Northern Ireland, acting as their strategic insurance advisor and identifying opportunities to add value through risk management, re-broking, and coverage improvements.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Account Executive, you will take the lead in managing a well-established portfolio that spans diverse sectors and industries across Northern Ireland. Your day-to-day won’t just be about renewals; it will be about understanding each client’s risk landscape and advising them on the cover that truly fits their business.
You’ll be in front of clients regularly, listening to what’s changed in their world and guiding them through tailored insurance solutions that make a difference. Alongside nurturing existing relationships, you’ll play an active role in generating new business, whether that’s through referrals, local networking, or spotting strategic opportunities in the market.
Internally, you’ll work hand-in-hand with experienced broking and placement teams, ensuring every client gets advice that’s not just compliant but commercially sound. You’ll also help track revenue, support accurate forecasting, and contribute to the broader business development strategy. And throughout it all, you’ll maintain the high standards expected by the FCA and by your clients. This role calls for someone who brings both professionalism and personality to the table.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial or corporate insurance role.
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of commercial insurance products (e.g. Property, Liability, D&O, PI, Fleet).
- Proven ability to build trust with senior business leaders and present clear, compelling proposals.
- Experience in the Northern Ireland insurance market, including Belfast.
- CII qualifications (Cert CII / Dip CII / ACII) or working towards.
- Strong time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
Who This Role Suits
This role would suit a confident, client-facing Account Executive who understands how to build relationships and add value beyond renewals. If you’re looking to join a brokerage that values quality of service, client retention, and professional integrity, this is a strong next step towards progressing your career.
What’s in it for you?
This role offers more than just a competitive salary; it’s about being part of an environment that values your wellbeing, development, and long-term success. You’ll have access to a strong benefits package that includes private health insurance, life cover, and a contributory pension scheme. Time off is respected, with generous holiday entitlement, paid sick days, and additional support like bereavement leave and long-service recognition.
The company is serious about wellbeing, with access to mental health and wellness programmes, gym memberships, and a cycle-to-work scheme to support a healthier lifestyle. You’ll also have full use of a dedicated Health & Wellbeing app.
In the office, expect a collaborative culture with regular team lunches, office perks, and flexible scheduling to help balance work and life. There’s a strong emphasis on growth too, with ongoing training, tuition support, and clearly mapped progression routes. Plus, you’ll benefit from referral bonuses, employee discounts, and practical on-the-job learning from an experienced team that values your input from day one.
