Signature Recruitment is seeking a Temporary Postgraduate Programme Officer to support a higher education institution during a busy period in the academic calendar.

This role pays £19.06 per hour plus holiday pay and is available for an immediate start.

It is initially a one-month temporary assignment with potential to extend, working 35 hours Monday to Friday.

The hybrid pattern is two days in the office and three days from home, with Thursday as an anchor office day.

Temporary Postgraduate Programme Officer - The Role

You will provide postgraduate programme administration and responsive support to students and colleagues, helping to keep enquiries, records, assessments and communications accurate and up to date.

This is a varied role with competing priorities, so you will need to become familiar with processes quickly and take ownership of your workload following initial training.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing student-facing shared inboxes, triaging, actioning, signposting and escalating enquiries appropriately.
  • Processing mitigating circumstances, module amendments and registrations while maintaining accurate student records.
  • Supporting assessment administration, including oral presentations, alternative assessments and results queries.
  • Managing timetabling enquiries and sending clear communications to students.
  • Providing in-person support to students and staff and assisting with events.
  • Supporting intercollegiate programme administration and wider ad-hoc duties across the team.

Temporary Postgraduate Programme Officer - Who We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working within higher education is essential.
  • Strong programme or student administration experience.
  • Confidence managing shared inboxes and a high volume of student enquiries.
  • Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive approach and confidence taking ownership of tasks independently.
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Experience with assessment boards and marksheets would be particularly useful.
  • Familiarity with student record systems such as SITS would be beneficial but is not essential.
