Signature Recruitment is seeking a Research Support Administrator to join a busy research support team within a higher education institution.
Paying Β£19.03 per hour, this is a three-month temporary assignment working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role offers hybrid working, normally three days on campus and two days from home. During onboarding and training, you may initially be required on campus four days per week. Office days generally fall between Monday and Wednesday.
Research Support Administrator - The Role:
You will act as a key point of contact for academics, researchers and professional services colleagues, providing practical support across research administration, recruitment and grant activity.
The position combines stakeholder support with detailed systems and data administration, so you will need to manage your workload independently while knowing when to involve colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising and signposting academics and researchers, handling queries and allocating requests to the wider team where appropriate.
- Supporting recruitment administration from start to finish and managing contract extensions and associated records.
- Assisting academics with grant applications, submissions, budgets and funding-related administration.
- Maintaining Worktribe records and Intention to Apply information, including providing guidance or training when required.
- Running reports using Power BI, maintaining large datasets and following up with Principal Investigators for required information.
- Providing wider operational research support, including general enquiries, courier requests and other administrative tasks.

Research Support Administrator - Who We're Looking For:
- Previous Higher Education sector experience.
- Research support or grants administration experience.
- Previous Worktribe experience.
- Experience using HR systems such as PeopleXD or a comparable platform.
- Reporting experience using Business World or an equivalent system.
- Confidence handling large datasets accurately.
- A proactive, approachable and flexible working style, with the ability to work autonomously.
