You will play an important part in keeping a demanding programme of board and governance meetings organised and running smoothly.

This includes supporting formal board meetings every two weeks alongside weekly internal board-style meetings.

The role requires someone who can learn processes quickly, organise competing priorities and respond flexibly when new requests arise.

Your main responsibilities will include

  • Coordinate board meetings, working with the Chair on agendas, invitations, papers and meeting arrangements.
  • Take accurate minutes, record decisions and maintain clear action trackers following meetings.
  • Support weekly meetings through agenda preparation, room bookings, coordination and prompt distribution of actions.
  • Manage a shared inbox, responding to enquiries, signposting requests and maintaining an organised filing structure.
  • Coordinate in-person workshops and provide practical meeting and room support when required.
  • Provide flexible programme administration, including gathering information and responding to ad-hoc requests across the team.

Programme Support Officer - What's on Offer

  • 12-month fixed-term contract.
  • Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Hybrid working with three days in the office and two days from home.
  • No fixed office days, allowing the working pattern to respond to business needs.
  • Immediate start preferred.
  • Regular exposure to board, governance and senior stakeholder activity.

  • Previous administrative or programme support experience within a

Higher Education environment is essential .

  • Experience coordinating meetings, agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A quick learner who can pick up new processes and systems confidently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to changing priorities and ad-hoc requests.
