Venue Operations Manager – Cold Town House

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 plus TRONC (Circa £5000+) + Up to 40% of Salary Bonus

Are you a driven hospitality leader ready to take your career to the next level? Cold Town House, one of Edinburgh’s most iconic venues, is looking for a Venue Operations Manager to help lead our vibrant and dynamic team in the heart of the Grassmarket.

As part of Signature Group, Cold Town House is the jewel in the crown of the Company, with 3 multi-concept floors, including a unique rooftop with views of Edinburgh Castle, an on-site microbrewery crafting our signature Cold Town Beer, and a restaurant serving up fresh Neapolitan-style pizzas and crowd-pleasing favourites.

About the Role:

As Venue Operations Manager reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of Cold Town House, ensuring smooth operations across all three floors of the multi-concept venue. You will lead and develop a large front-of-house team, driving an exceptional customer experience, strong financial performance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

· Operational Management – Assist the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring all departments run smoothly and efficiently while meeting company goals and standards.

· Team Leadership & Development – Support in managing and motivating staff, ensuring effective recruitment, training, and performance management to maintain a productive and positive team environment.

· Financial Oversight – Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring financial performance to ensure the business meets its revenue targets and stays within budget.

· Customer Relations & Service Excellence – Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing customer feedback, resolving issues, and implementing service improvements where needed.

· Compliance & Standards – Ensure all company policies, procedures, and legal regulations are adhered to, maintaining a safe and compliant environment for both staff and customers.

What We’re Looking For:

· Previous experience as a General Manager in small to medium size venues (taking £40,000+ per week) OR previous experience as a Deputy General Manager in high-volume venues (taking £60,000+ per week)

· Leadership & Team Management – Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team, ensuring high performance, staff development, and a positive workplace culture.

· Financial Acumen – Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control to support business profitability and achieve financial goals.

· Strategic Thinking – Ability to analyse business performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

· Excellent Communication Skills – Clear and effective communication with staff, customers, and senior management, ensuring smooth operations and collaboration across departments.

· Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Strong analytical skills to address challenges, make informed decisions, and implement practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
