The Role: The Southampton General Manager (GM) role is a critical role in our business, responsible for managing all aspects of the Southampton FBO business and ensuring the highest levels of safety, hospitality and operational performance. You will be accountable for the financial performance of the Southampton FBO and will be responsible for leading and engaging the team, implementing people and operational strategies within and across the Southampton FBO and inspiring high performance and engagement. You will be responsible for driving and delivering strategic initiatives and ensuring high levels of delivery across all metrics to deliver a consistent, exceptional guest experience. You will have a solid understanding of the commercial performance of your base and continuously monitor the competitive environment to determine growth opportunities. You will develop and maintain relationships with guests, operators and airport authorities, to develop new business and ensure guest experience (measured through NPS) is exceptional. You will use feedback to continuously improve and develop capabilities and processes, all whilst promoting the Signature brand. A key part of your role as Southampton GM will be collaborating and partnering with specialist functions including Finance on budgets and P&L management and Human Resources on developing and growing a high performance, high engagement culture through appropriate implementation of people initiatives and policies, training and development, reward and recognition, succession planning and consistent communication and engagement with all team members.
About You: The important bits: You will be a minimum of 18 years of age with the ability to pass company background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, meet airport background check requirements to receive and maintain an airport security badge, and be insurable by the Company's applicable insurance policies. You must hold the right to work in the UK and have a full UK driving licence. The role requires flexibility in terms of working time with some national and international travel. In addition: You will have a proven track record in successfully leading a business or operation, with evidence of working proactively to identify and pursue opportunities to grow the business in line with strategic aims, with a guest experience and hospitality first mindset. You will also have experience of using data and market knowledge for decision making, and leading / managing teams, with demonstrable evidence of driving high performing and engaged teams. Ideally, your experience will be gained within a related industry - within Aviation Services or Hospitality. Additionally, you will have a broad understanding of technical and financial data including experience of managing a P&L. You’ll be comfortable working in an agile, operational environment, with the ability to stay calm, focused and organised. You’ll be IT-literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Additional language skills would be an advantage.
