We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on an 8-month fixed term contract, supporting the UK business during a period of growth and change. This role is fully remote and suited to an immediate starter based in the UK or Ireland.
Reporting to the UK Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in UK financial control activities, including month-end close, statutory compliance, accounts payable oversight, and a range of ad-hoc and improvement projects. The role also supports wider Group Finance objectives and will evolve in line with business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Month-End & Financial Control
- Complete month-end accounting for UK Ltd companies and other corporate entities
- Post journals and close ledgers in line with reporting timelines
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analyse monthly movements
- Review and maintain the fixed asset register
- Perform P&L reviews to ensure accurate general ledger coding and reporting
- Calculate, review, and explain FX movements
- Manage UK and corporate intercompany reconciliations, including transfer pricing considerations
- Support the UK Financial Controller with month-end analysis and reporting
- Cash, Working Capital & AP Oversight
- Guide the Accounts Assistant to ensure timely processing and payment of invoices and expenses
- Review supplier reconciliations and resolve complex supplier issues
- Support improvements to accounts payable processes
- Ensure expense policy training is delivered to new starters and refreshed where required
- Support billing and accounts receivable processes for UK revenue streams
- Assist with cash flow forecasting, analysis, and weekly payment runs
- Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Support statutory compliance across UK entities, including Companies House filings
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Work with HR to ensure payroll, benefits, and tax compliance (including SAO requirements)
- Liaise with external advisors (PwC) on annual tax returns
- Manage UK National Statistics submissions
- Prepare year-end audit schedules and act as a key contact for auditors
- Assist with drafting UK statutory accounts under IFRS
- Support Group audit and reporting requirements, including UK submissions and analysis
- Projects & Business Partnering
- Support tax and restructuring projects impacting the UK and corporate structure
- Partner with FP&A to improve cost control and performance
- Contribute to Group accounting policy documentation
- Assist with improving finance controls, processes, reporting, and SLAs
- Business partner with UK stakeholders to improve efficiency and cost management
- Collaborate with international finance teams to improve consistency and matrix working
- Part-qualified ACCA
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Advanced Excel skills
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and keen to take ownership in a fast-moving environment
- Available to start immediately or at short notice
