Our experienced, NRCPD registered, DBS and BPSS checked interpreters provide services onsite, nationally and internationally, both face-to-face and remotely.

  • InterpretersLive!: Our cutting-edge video relay interpreting service offers British Sign Language interpreters on demand, accessible via desktop or tablet. This service ensures D/deaf employees can participate in meetings and make phone calls with hearing customers and colleagues.
  • Website Accessibility: Our InterpretersLive! service also helps organizations become accessible to D/deaf people through a link on their website allowing them to instantly connect, enhancing their accessibility rating and allowing D/deaf people to communicate via a real-time online BSL interpreter.
  • Training and Qualifications: Our training centre offers qualifications in BSL and CPD for British Sign Language interpreters. We also provide Deaf awareness training, available onsite or via e-learning.
  • Translation Services: We make videos and documents accessible to D/deaf people by translating them into BSL, offering a cost-effective and efficient translation service.

About the role: To provide BSL interpreting both face to face and remotely, predominately working within the medical sector within the Bristol / South West. In addition, you may be required to work with a broad range of clients in the private and public sector, as well as individual Deaf clients. Opportunity to also work on InterpretersLive! service on prebooked and on demand assignments.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To undertake face to face interpreting assignments
  • To undertake video interpreting assignments
  • To deliver high quality BSL/English interpreting services to all clients
  • To report to Head Interpreter and Line Manager
  • To maintain CPD
  • To abide by NRCPD code of conduct
  • To work well within the interpreting team

Qualifications Essential skills/qualifications/experience:

  • NRCPD registration RSLI /TSLI
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience working in medical sector is desirable
  • A full driving licence is essential
