Role Summary

As a Senior BI Analyst, you play a leading role in shaping and driving data‑led insight across the organisation. You are responsible for independently analysing complex data from multiple sources, translating ambiguity into clear, actionable insights, and owning performance outcomes for assigned services or Enterprise customers. The role combines advanced analytical capability with strong stakeholder influence. Senior BI Analysts act as trusted advisors, guiding others through insight‑led decision making, setting analytical direction for their areas of ownership, and ensuring that identified improvements are prioritised and implemented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct detailed analysis of complex, multi‑source data to identify performance issues, improvement opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Own end‑to‑end performance insight for assigned services or Enterprise customers, including defining analytical approach, metrics, and success measures.
  • Act as the BIA performance lead for designated Enterprise clients, delivering service performance presentations and being accountable for ongoing insight quality and impact.
  • Track agreed improvement actions and work proactively with internal teams to ensure delivery within agreed timescales.
  • Design, develop, and own Power BI reports and dashboards, including setting best practices for usability, insight clarity, and storytelling.
  • Design, build, and maintain complex Excel‑based reporting and analytical models, setting best‑practice standards and ensuring outputs are suitable for senior decision‑making and external customer use.
  • Provide expert guidance to BI Analysts on analytical approach, report design, prioritisation, and interpretation of findings.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex reporting, data interpretation, or stakeholder challenges.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels using clear, compelling insight‑led communication, including presentations to senior leadership and external customers.
  • Continuously review and improve BIA reporting processes, standards, and outputs to increase insight value and efficiency.
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy, managing priorities based on business impact rather than task direction alone.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, statistics, economics, data science, computer science, information technology or a Business‑related area.
  • Experience in an Operations/BI analyst role (or similar) with focus on driving service performance.
  • Proficient technical background and highly skilled with Microsoft Excel (including Pivot tables, complex formulae, VLOOKUP).

  • Strong presentation skills, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and/or large audiences.
  • A demonstrable continual improvement mindset, with a desire to continually improve systems and processes.
  • Inquisitive and driven to fully understand issues and get to the root cause.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across multiple simultaneous priorities.
