Job Description
Support Worker \\n\\nOur client is looking for Specialist Support Workers to provide health and social care support to deaf individuals in Leeds.\\n\\nTheir service in Leeds is a brand-new supported living service for clients who are deaf with complex needs and/or mental health conditions.\\n\\nPosition: Specialist Support Worker\\n\\nLocation: Leeds\\n\\nSalary: £28,080 per annum.\\n\\nHours: Full-time, 40 hours per week. To meet the needs of the service, hours will include days, evenings, weekends and sleep shifts. Bank contracts are also available.\\n\\nBenefits: The employer will work alongside you during your career to maximise your full potential with training and development to help you become the best you!\\n\\nJoin their learning pathway with BSL, they offer paid training and development to further your BSL knowledge.\\n\\nBeing a permanent employee, you will also receive the following:\\n\\n25 days holiday per holiday year plus bank holidays (pro-rata) \\n2 wellbeing days (pro-rata) \\nAfter 3 months auto-enrolled in the NOW pension scheme at prevailing rates \\nAfter successful completion of the probation period (normally 6 months) eligible to join Scottish widows pension employee contributes 5%, employer 6% \\nEye care vouchers \\n5 days paid study leave per year (CPD) (pro-rata) \\nExpenses policy which allows payments for items when working away from home \\n2x salary life assurance scheme (death in service) \\nFully funded BSL training \\nGenerous sick pay policy \\nRefer a friend £200 voucher for both the referee and referrer.\\n\\nAbout the Role: \\n\\nYou will become a key worker to a client, supporting them with independent living skills, emotional support, monitoring of their medication, and where appropriate maintaining safety, privacy, and dignity following CQC regulations and organisation policies and procedures.\\n\\nAbout you: \\n\\nIf you have the passion to make a difference, have the experience outlined below, and are interested in working for this amazing charity then they would be delighted to hear from you:\\n\\nThey are looking for people with:\\n\\nExperience of working with varying degrees of deafness, including those who are culturally deaf\\nBritish Sign Language (BSL) or a willingness to learn BSL\\nExcellent communications skills\\nExperience working with people with Learning Disabilities and/or Mental Health\\nExperience working in supported living services/or residential care services\\n\\nYou will receive an in-depth induction to give you insight into their charity and what they do, and how you will be able to help them deliver its mission.\\n\\nWellbeing is at the heart of everything this charity does!
