This role follows a 3 shift pattern of earlies, nights & lates - and attracts a shift premium.
The role: To work as part of the 2D Production Team to maximise efficiencies at all times - on an individual basis and collectively as part of a team. To produce high quality fabrics, making best use of the materials being run on the loom, and to be responsible for the health and safety of themselves and others working around them.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:- To identify the correct yarn on the QM50/ QM4 and ensure that the AF, MR and Lot numbers are used in the fabric are entered clearly and accurately.
- To operate the loom in line with training to ensure correct procedures are adhered to.
- To undertake weft changes.
- To maintain housekeeping of the loom, including (but not limited to):
- General housekeeping of the entire loom equipment and immediate area.
- Fabric checks: ensure pattern is correct; weft cutter is cutting cleanly, no frayed edges; side cutters are cutting smoothly.
- Visually inspect fabric around looms during production.
- Roll doffing.
- To operate looms as required by the Technician.
- Operate a clean-as-you-go mindset in line with the FOD prevention programme.
- Use the correct cleaning methods as instructed by the 2D Technician or Team Leader.
- Raise any concerns over fabric quality to the 2D Technician.
